App Integrations: Turning hidden decision context into a competitive edge

Investment decisions rarely originate in a spreadsheet. They are formed in email threads, Slack discussions, and CRM notes. This is where assumptions are debated, numbers are agreed upon, and trade-offs are made.

That context is critical, yet it typically sits outside the final model or deck. By the time a figure is reviewed months later, the rationale behind it is often buried in an inbox or lost in chat history. Reconstructing that decision trail manually is slow, unreliable, and creates unnecessary risk.

Desia brings this communication context directly into your analytical environment, ensuring the "why" behind the data is never lost.

Context where the work happens

Desia integrates with the communication and note-taking tools your team already relies on. Emails, messages, CRM data, and internal comments are indexed alongside formal documents like models and filings. This makes your entire body of internal knowledge searchable and usable during analysis.

Currently supported sources include:

  • Email: Microsoft Outlook and Gmail

  • Messaging: Microsoft Teams and Slack

  • CRM: Affinity

  • Notes: Evernote

Flexible integrations: We are constantly expanding our connectivity. We can integrate additional apps on demand to fit your specific stack, including tools like other CRMs (e.g., DealCloud), notes and note-takers (e.g., Microsoft OneNote, Granola) and task management tools (e.g., Trello).

Context remains in its original system but becomes accessible within Desia. There is no need to copy text into documents or manually archive discussions to preserve your decision history.

Turning Context Into Usable Analysis

By linking communication data to your workflow, Desia addresses the friction points that usually slow down diligence and execution:

  • Assumption traceability: Link a specific input in a financial model directly to the email or message where that figure was agreed.

  • Timeline reconstruction: Surface key dates, terms, and turning points from threads across multiple team members instantly.

  • From discussion to model: Identify numerical updates discussed in Teams or captured in notes and reflect them in the next model iteration.

From Conversations to Actionable Insight

Bringing communication data into your environment enables practical use cases that go beyond record-keeping:

  • Meeting preparation: Surface recent interactions with a counterparty from Outlook or Gmail, including prior discussions and open questions. Teams enter meetings with full context.

  • Target identification: Combine CRM data from Affinity with email history to identify qualified targets based on geography or prior engagement, such as London-based companies where an initial conversation has already taken place.

  • Post-call analysis: Analyze Microsoft Teams transcripts to extract key comments, such as advisor views on financial forecasts, and reference them directly when updating models or memos.

A Unified View Across Files and Communications

Desia brings together structured data from files and unstructured context from communications in a single environment. When generating a memo, model, or investment deck, teams can reference both source documents and the underlying discussions that informed them.

The result is a clear audit trail. Outputs reflect not only the final numbers, but also where they came from, who validated them, and why the decisions were made.
